God does exist!

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen...

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.

As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.

They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:

- "I don't believe that God exists."
- “Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
- "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.

He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:

- "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

- "How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.

- "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

- "No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

- "Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."

- "Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

1. Hãy cầu nguyện.
2. Đi ngủ đúng giờ.
3. Thức giậy đúng giờ để có thể bắt đầu một ngày mới không hối hả.
4. Hãy từ chối các dự án không thích hợp với lịch trình của bạn, hay có thể làm cho bạn điên đầu.
5. Hãy trao phó các trách vụ cho những ai có khả năng dưới quyền mình.
6. Hãy làm cho đời sống của bạn giản dị và không rắc rối.
7. Ít đi có nghĩa là nhiều hơn (Mặc dầu một thường không đủ, mà hai thường quá nhiều)
8. Dành nhiều thì giờ để làm việc và đi đây đó

MUỜI ÐẶC ÐIỂM CỦA NGUỜI VIỆT NAM

1. Cần cù lao dộng song dễ thỏa mãn nên tâm lý huởng thụ còn nặng.

2. Thông minh, sáng tạo, song chỉ có tính chất dối phó, thiếu tầm tu duy dài hạn, chủ dộng.

3. Khéo léo, song không duy trì dến cùng (ít quan tâm dến sự hoàn thiện cuối cùng của sản phẩm).

4. Vừa thực tế, vừa mo mộng, song lại không có ý thức nâng lên thành lý luận.

5. Ham học hỏi, có khả nang tiếp thu nhanh, song ít khi học "dến dầu dến duôi" nên kiến thức không hệ thống, mất co bản.

Ngoài ra, học tập không phải là mục tiêu tự thân của mỗi nguời Việt Nam (nhỏ học vì gia dình, lớn lên học vì si diện, vì kiếm công an việc làm, ít vì chí khí, dam mê)

6. Xởi lởi, chiều khách, song không bền.

7. Tiết kiệm, song nhiều khi hoang phí vì những mục tiêu vô bổ (si diện, khoe khoang, thích hon dời).

8. Có tinh thần doàn kết, tuong thân, tuong ái, song hầu nhu chỉ trong những hoàn cảnh, truờng hợp khó khan, bần hàn.

Còn trong diều kiện sống tốt hon, giàu có hon thì tinh thần này rất ít xuất hiện.

9. Yêu hòa bình, nhẫn nhịn, song nhiều khi lại hiếu chiến, hiếu thắng vì những lý do tự ái, lặt vặt, dánh mất dại cục.

10. Thích tụ tập, nhung lại thiếu tính liên kết dể tạo ra sức mạnh .

Cùng một việc, một nguời làm thì tốt, ba nguời làm thì kém, bảy nguời làm thì hỏng.

Terry Fox: "The Marathon of Hope"

Terrance Stanley "Terry" Fox, CC (July 28, 1958 – June 28, 1981) was a Canadian humanitarian, athlete, and cancer treatment activist. He became famous for the Marathon of Hope, a cross-Canada run to raise money for cancer research, which Fox ran with one prosthetic leg. He is considered one of Canada's greatest heroes of the 20th century and is celebrated internationally every September as people participate in the Terry Fox Run, the world's largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research.



[terryfoxrun.org] Terry Fox was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and raised in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, a community near Vancouver on Canada's west coast. An active teenager involved in many sports, Terry was only 18 years old when he was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer) and forced to have his right leg amputated 15 centimetres (six inches) above the knee in 1977.
While in hospital, Terry was so overcome by the suffering of other cancer patients, many of them young children, that he decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research.

He would call his journey the Marathon of Hope.

After 18 months and running over 5,000 kilometres (3,107 miles) to prepare, Terry started his run in St. John’s, Newfoundland on April 12, 1980 with little fanfare. Although it was difficult to garner attention in the beginning, enthusiasm soon grew, and the money collected along his route began to mount. He ran 42 kilometres (26 miles) a day through Canada's Atlantic provinces, Quebec and Ontario.

It was a journey that Canadians never forgot.

However, on September 1st, after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 miles), Terry was forced to stop running outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario because cancer had appeared in his lungs. An entire nation was stunned and saddened. Terry passed away on June 28, 1981 at age 22.

The heroic Canadian was gone, but his legacy was just beginning.

To date, more than $400 million has been raised worldwide for cancer research in Terry's name through the annual Terry Fox Run, held across Canada and around the world.
